Rani (Navaratnam) Anandasabapathy was born in Sri Lanka, pursued art mostly on her own due to a busy schedule of running a home in addition to owning an antique store and a travel agency in Staten island. She took classes at Snug harbor, Czimbalmos private school of fine art and Pastel society of NY intermittently in the early years. Later she took classes at Ringling school of art and Southern Atelier in Sarasota, Florida.

She learnt print making under a world famous print maker Herman Zaage in the nineties. Since then she participated at workshops and master classes with internationally famous artists including, late Daniel Greene, David Leffel, Rob Liberace, Zhoaming Wu, Susan Foster, Dennis Perrin and Charles Miano.

She has had single person shows at Maurograhics gallery and at Psychiatric center in Staten Island, NY. She has exhibited at the pastel society in NY and at Ringling school of art in Sarasota, Florida. Her works have been collected by people from Australia, SriLanka, UK and USA including a billionaire ranked within the top 50 on the Forbes list.
